GuideStar provides comprehensive and reliable information about more than 42,000 registered Amutot, nonprofits, public-benefit corporations and endowments in Israel.
In October, we launched a new version of the website with new features and enhancements pertaining to information and data about nonprofits on a number of topics.
This manual will describe the information on the website with an emphasis on new updates and data to help you easily and quickly find relevant information about Amutot / nonprofits.
New data about the organizations on the website
- Subsidies from government ministries under section 3A – information source: Ministry of Finance
- Notice indicating approval of tax credits for donations under section 46 – information source: Tax Authority
- Areas of activity of Amutot as categorized by the Registrar of Amutot – information source: Registrar of Amutot
- Online data from the narrative report: annual turnover, number of employees, number of volunteers, location of operations - relies on a report that the organizations fill out online – information source: Registrar of Amutot

- Online data for five high-salaried employees – relies on a report that the organizations fill out online
Trusted government information
GuideStar publishes trustworthy data, documents and reports drawn directly from the databases of the Registrar of Amutot, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Authority.
These data, which will appear for almost all the organizations (except in cases where information is unavailable), are indicated by a blue background and include: ID number, date of establishment, mission statement, address, certification of proper management, approval of tax credit for donations, area of activity, subsidies from government ministries, donations from a foreign entity.
In addition, you will find on the website official documents and reports submitted to the Registrar of Amutot, such as certificates of registration, proper management certification, financial statements, narrative reports as well as information about five high-salaried employees.
The new version of the website also includes online information about five salaried employees, number of employees, volunteers and annual turnover.

Supplementary information published by organizations
On the GuideStar website you can find supplementary information that has been voluntarily and independently published by organizations in an effort to expose a broader and more comprehensive overview of their operations.
Such independently published Information includes a logo, a link to a website and social networks, a general description, contact information, branch addresses, information about staff, volunteering, donations, prizes, achievements, as well as photos of various activities.
In addition, organizations may independently publish on the website their regulations, approvals, position papers and various reports.

If you believe that the information published by an organization is in any way offensive, please click on the relevant link and notify us in the contact form, and we shall do our best to address the issue.
An explanation about the profiles organizations on the website
On the top left of each profile is a business card, which includes the following details: ID number, type of nonprofit, status, year of establishment and certification of proper management, or tax credit for donations.
Area of activity - new feature on website
On the left side of the profile is displayed the organization's area of activity, obtained from the narrative report. If an organization does not fill out a narrative report, the area of activity will be pulled from the database of the Registrar of Amutot.
The "General Information" tab displays general information about the organization from governmental sources as well as supplementary information voluntarily published by the organization.
The government information includes: the organization's goals, address, as well as data from its narrative report (if filled out), such as email and additional activity locations.
Supplementary Information - an organization may publish a general description of its activities, additional contact information, branches throughout the country, and more.
Documents and Certifications
The "Documents and Certifications" tab allows you to view official documents of the Registrar of Amutot, such as a valid certification of proper management and future certification of proper management, if any, as well as annual reports of the organization by year, such as financial statements, narrative reports and a list of five of its high- salaried employees.
In addition, documents may appear that have been published by the organization itself, such as activity reports, a year-end summary, position papers, articles written by members of the organization, and more.
Goals and Achievements
In the "Goals and Achievements" tab, you will find a description of the organization's vision, goals and achievements which are usually published by the organizations themselves.
The "People" tab includes information about the founders of the organization on the day of its establishment and supplementary information about the organization regarding officials and functionaries.
New! If the organization has filled out the online form for five high-salaried employees, this information will also be displayed in the "People" tab.
The "Finances" tab includes the annual financial statements, a list of five high-salaried employees (similar to how it is displayed in the "Documents and Certifications" tab), and information about government subsidies and donations that the organization has received from a foreign state entity.
Activities / Assistance to the organization / Awards and Publications
The "Activities", "Assistance to the Organization", "Awards and Publications" tabs display supplementary information, provided independently by the organization, about various activities, matters that the organization handles, information about joining or contributing to the organization, as well as prizes received by the organization and various publications in the media.
Additional links and supplementary information
Besides the data in the organization's profile, there are also links to additional information on the organization's website and on social networks, as well as photos of various activities that the organization chooses to publish.
