NPTech – Non-profit Technology (CIC) aims at promoting and supporting the work of non-profit organizations (hereinafter: "NPOs") in Israel, inter alia, by creating a comprehensive, easy to operate database that will be a source for monetary and financial information about NPOs in Israel.
The website is run by GuideStar's NPTech team (NPTech and said team shall hereinafter be referred to together as: "GuideStar") and operated according to an agreement that was signed between the Ministry of Justice, Yad Hanadiv and JDC Israel, with the view to allow the entire public accessibility to the database about the activity of NPOs.
The compiled information and using it
Website users are sometimes required to provide personal information about themselves, and the information editors on behalf of the organization will be required to also provide information about other people in the organization. GuideStar takes the acceptable measures to ensure that the information concerning you as well as the information provided by you is kept safe, accurate and updated.
GuideStar may compile information about you as follows:
1. If you are the organization's authorized representative, according to the updated record in the website, and wish to update the information about the organization, you will be required to provide your full name, I.D. number, e-mail address and telephone number. These details will be stored in our database. This information is vital for the purpose of identifying the person authorized to update the information about the organization, on behalf of the organization.
2. If you choose to forward to GuideStar, through the Internet, personal information required by GuideStar or its business partners, e.g. for the purpose of corresponding with you, GuideStar will inform you as to the way said information is used.
3. We will use the personal details and personal information we receive about you from other sources for providing the services, in order to ensure that the NPOs' data that we manage are credible, correct and up to date, for the purpose of internal administrative purposes, customer service, marketing and preference analysis, and in order to ensure that the contents, services and publications provided by us are suitable to your wishes and needs.
The details provided by you will be stored in our database for a period of several years for the sake of said purposes and will be forwarded, to that end, to GuideStar's service providers and agents.
We intend continue improving the contents and possibilities offered by the website. For this reason we may monitor the traffic/surfing and use patterns of the website in order to help us improve the design and deployment of the website and to provide relevant contents to our surfers.
The website will use the collected information by Cookies files. A cookie file is a small file containing a character string which is sent to your computer during your visit in the website. This file allows us to identify you as an old user and assist us in adjusting the website to your preferences, as much as possible.
To that end, while visiting the site we may also connect to your IP address, which allows us to uniquely identify your computer or other access devices.

Using the information
We reserve the right to share the information with GuideStar's service providers in order to send information about various NPOs to the website users. By agreeing to update the NPO's details on the site, you authorize GuideStar and/or anyone on its behalf to contact you by mail, electronic mail address (e-mail), fax or any other electronic message service with information you may find interesting, unless you inform us otherwise. To that end, while providing your personal details, inter alia, your telephone number and e-mail address, you will be required to agree, pursuant to the Communications Law (Bezeq and Broadcasting) (Amendment No. 4) 5768-2008,to the transfer of such information in any of the following ways: fax, automatic dialing system, electronic message or SMS for the aforesaid purposes. If you do not wish to receive such information, please indicate that in the suitable place in the log in page or in the registration to our electronic newsletter. Your agreement and other people's information
By providing us the personal information, you agree that GuideStar shall forward the provided personal data for the aforesaid purposes. In addition, you agree that GuideStar will forward the information to countries or jurisdictions which may not keep information safety at the level acceptable in Israel, such that this is required to fulfill the aforesaid purposes. If GuideStar forwards the information as aforesaid, it will take the possible measures to ensure that your personal information is kept safe.
If you choose to forward to us information, including contact details of third parties, we will consider this as your confirmation that said third parties provided you with their explicit agreement to forwarding the data and to processing them by us for the website's purposes.
As a rule, GuideStar is not related nor represents in any way or form the websites operators or the information providers, and it is not their representative and is not authorized to act on their behalf or to bind them by any of its actions.
In order to provide you custom made service, you are required to feed a password that will serve you for the purpose of receiving part of the website services and allow you access to some of the information on GuideStar. Using and controlling passwords are at the exclusive responsibility of the user.
Passwords that were given to the organization's representative for the purpose of updating the information must be kept confidential. Passwords will be used by the organization's authorized representatives, and adding an authorized representative by the organization entails notifying GuideStar accordingly in advance and in writing. The organization will have no claim against GuideStar or anyone on its behalf regarding using passwords.
Should the ownership in GuideStar or in the website is in any way changed (by way of sale, transfer etc.), the information in our possession may be included in the assets in which ownership is changed. However, any use made in the information by the new owners will be subject to and in accordance with the content of the aforesaid policy.
You are entitled to receive a copy of all the information about you that is in our possession (for a certain fee) and require the amendment of any mistake and inaccuracy that may occurred in the information.
GuideStar may monitor and document any communication with you, for the purpose of quality control and service improvement.
